For the first three decades of online commerce, the networks had pretty well-relegated security to the online merchants. That hasn’t worked out very well—including for most issuing banks. And the programs the networks have belatedly introduced (e.g., 3-Domain Secure 2.0, Click to Pay/SRC, network tokenization) suffer slow adoption. So new initiatives, like Paze, Riskified’s Issuer Alerts, and industrial-strength digital wallets, are carving a new path for issuers and merchants alike. This session explains why.
